Jacques runs a wine store and is something of an aficionado. As the job requires him to sample his goods, the many years of this benefit have caught up with him, and after a heart scare, he is told by his doctor to quit the wine or die. Meanwhile, midwife Hortense regularly cooks for her elderly mother and a group of homeless people. One day she visits Jacques’s shop to buy wine for the homeless dinner and he is smitten by Hortense’s enthusiasm for wine. She notices he runs tasting sessions so on a whim, she signs up and their relationship starts to blossom. Similar to the tasting notes on a good bottle – the film delivers decent characters, a few laughs, a few tears and a very satisfying finish.
