All We Imagine As Light is the story of three nurses in modern-day Mumbai. Prabha is estranged from her husband and is troubled when she receives an unusual gift from him. Anu, her younger roommate, is causing some scandal among the more gossipy elements of the hospital on account of her Muslim boyfriend. Meanwhile, widowed Parvaty is being threatened with eviction because a property developer has bought the apartment building, and her late husband did not leave her the documentation that would prove her resident’s right to remain or at least to get compensation. A trip to Parvaty’s village on the coast allows them all some reprieve and space for their real desires to manifest. Grand Prize Award: Cannes Film Festival 2024.
