Inspired by the “baby box” phenomenon, Broker tells the story of new mother So-young who leaves her child outside in a church’s baby box. The child is intercepted by two brokers who sell babies to potential parents they deem fit and caring, bypassing the bureaucracies and gaps of the official adoption processes. So-young surprises the duo by returning to ensure her child finds a good home. The three embark on a journey to find the right parents and begin building an unlikely family of their own in the process.
