Named to TIFF’s annual year-end Canada’s Top Ten list for 2022, Riceboy Sleeps is a Canadian drama film that is based, in part, on director Anthony Shim’s own childhood. The film centres on So-Young, a Korean immigrant single mother raising her teenage son Dong-Hyun after moving to Canada with the hopes of providing a better life for him than the one she left behind.
